Job description

Horizon Global Partners (HgP) is seeking an experienced IT Coordinator to support the Department of Energy (DOE), Naval Reactors Laboratory Field Office (NRLFO) Mission Support Division. The IT Coordinator will provide IT support, coordinate technical services, support IT projects, assist with telecommunications, and help maintain IT processes and documentation across NRLFO operations. Responsibilities

  • Provide IT support to personnel and coordinate technical support with site IT personnel.
  • Respond to general IT questions and issues and provide direct user support as needed.
  • Execute IT actions for employee onboarding and offboarding.
  • Maintain a current knowledgebase of NRLFO hardware and software to support maintenance, enhancements, and refresh cycles.
  • Coordinate equipment delivery, asset tracking, installation requests, installation progress, documentation, drivers, and end-user feedback.
  • Assist with software approval, installation, configuration, and ongoing support.
  • Assist with connectivity and configuration issues involving non-enterprise systems.
  • Provide or coordinate specialized training for unique hardware and software.
  • Monitor open NRLFO Remedy tickets and assist with tracking, prioritization, coordination, and resolution within established service levels.
  • Identify IT trends and recurring problems, recommend solutions, and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Support special projects designed to streamline NRLFO IT processes and improve efficiency.
  • Coordinate IT support for project-oriented IT requests and initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations on IT systems and technologies to improve user efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Coordinate or support software application development activities.
  • Assist with telecommunications scheduling and troubleshooting for voice, data, and video services.
  • Support telephone, voicemail, audio conferencing, iPhone, fax, network connectivity, videoconferencing, and webcam requirements.
  • Ensure new and transferred employees receive required telecommunications support.
  • Maintain IT task and project tracking documentation and provide weekly status briefings to NRLFO IT managers.
  • Coordinate with NRLFO IT Branch, Business Management Branch, and NNL IT personnel to ensure priorities and requirements are understood and completed.
  • Develop, maintain, and document IT policies, processes, procedures, and supporting materials.
  • Maintain awareness of applicable cybersecurity, physical security, safety, and information security requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university OR a minimum of four (4) years of relevant IT experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Microsoft certification OR demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas and concepts clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational, coordination, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects and meet established completion dates.
  • Ability to work effectively with government personnel, contractors, technical teams, and end users.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE L Clearance. Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with software development processes.
  • Strong customer service, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience proactively resolving IT issues and improving processes.
  • Experience facilitating communication and coordination between internal and external organizations.
  • Knowledge of systems administration, including Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Experience with file management, transcription, and administrative procedures.
  • Experience developing and implementing IT policies and processes. Security Clearance DOE L Clearance is required. The selected candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain the required DOE facility access. DoD clearance reciprocity may be used while DOE clearance adjudication is evaluated.
