Automation Test Engineer

We are seeking a hands-on Automation Test Engineer to plan, develop and execute tests across application, API and cloud environments. You will work closely with developers, product owners and the Test Lead to deliver reliable software through an automation-first approach., * Define test objectives, scope and priorities; design and execute test cases covering user stories and acceptance criteria.

• Build and maintain automated tests and supporting infrastructure, contributing to Test Driven Development and CI/CD delivery.
• Perform functional, regression, integration and API testing, alongside SQL-based data validation.
• Identify, prioritise and report defects, investigate root causes and verify fixes.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to clarify requirements, communicate test results and highlight delivery risks.
• Improve test coverage and quality practices through retrospectives, identifying where manual testing remains appropriate.

• Hands-on experience with Cypress or Playwright, JavaScript/TypeScript and Gherkin.
• API testing using Postman, Playwright or Cypress, with strong understanding of REST requests, responses, status codes and authentication.
• Experience using the AWS Console, including S3, Lambda, EC2 and CloudWatch in test environments.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex queries for Back End validation and functional/integration testing.
• Sound understanding of SDLC, STLC, testing methodologies and defect management.
• Experience integrating automated tests into GitHub Actions, Jenkins or GitLab CI pipelines.
• Familiarity with GitHub, Jira and Agile delivery, including Scrum or Kanban.

Desirable

• Exposure to performance testing with JMeter or equivalent tools.
• Familiarity with security testing tools and practices.
