Job description
Insight Global is sourcing for a Data Product Owner to join a global consulting firm. The Data Product Owner represents the “voice of the customer” for a portfolio of data products within the Knowledge & Research Systems domain, bringing together case experience, practice viewpoints, external market data, and operational data to support knowledge discovery, workflow automation, analytics, and AI-enabled experiences. Alongside the Product Manager and business sponsors, this role co-owns data product strategy, roadmap development, and stakeholder relationships, spending significant time with the agile team and with senior stakeholders and customers. The Data Product Owner is accountable for the reliability, business value, adoption, and maturity of these products, and brings independent product judgment to both sides of the work: guiding practice, case-team, Knowledge Management, and Research stakeholders in how to define their data needs.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required
-7+ years of experience in data product management, Product Ownership, analytics, business intelligence, data strategy, or data management
-Demonstrated experience owning data products or data capabilities from discovery through adoption and continuous improvement
-Experience with agile/Scrum development and managing backlogs, requirements, and delivery across multiple workstreams; Product Owner, Scrum, or SAFe certification preferred
-Strong understanding of data modeling, data pipelines, data quality, metadata, lineage, governance, and BI concepts
-Ability to bridge technical and business communication, with demonstrated ability to influence senior business stakeholders and technical teams
-Experience shaping requirements and leading projects amid ambiguity, dependencies, and conflicting priorities
-Preferred: experience in professional services, consulting, knowledge management, research, or enterprise data platforms; familiarity with Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, Power BI, Tableau, APIs, data catalogs, and semantic models
Benefits & conditions
This position will be a 6-month contract with opportunities for extension or conversion, hybrid one day onsite in the Boston office.
Compensation: $60 /hr. to $_80/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on day one of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401K retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
