Requirements

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join a multidisciplinary Agile delivery team, working on the development and enhancement of modern, cloud-based services and APIs.

The successful candidate will have strong Back End development experience using Node.js, with hands-on exposure to AWS, Kafka and RESTful API development., * Strong commercial experience with Node.js, particularly Express

Design, development and integration of REST APIs
Hands-on experience with Redis
Strong experience with Kafka, specifically integrating and interacting with Kafka using Node.js
Good working knowledge of AWS cloud services
Experience using GitLab for source control and CI/CD workflows
Experience working within Agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams
Comfortable working with Jira and Confluence
Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, testing and maintainable code

Desirable Experience:

Previous experience delivering software within UK Government or wider public-sector environments
Experience working on large-scale, highly available digital services
Knowledge of CASA or similar application/service architectures would be advantageous

We are looking for a proactive engineer who can quickly integrate into an established delivery team and contribute across the software development life cycle.
