Job description

Description of Position: Configures and maintains end-user computing devices and classroom audio/visual equipment, and provides end-user technical support. The specialist’s responsibilities may extend to include assisting with the installation and maintenance of servers, applications or networking equipment., Install and maintain computing devices and related peripherals Install and maintain classroom audio/visual equipment and related peripherals Perform basic network troubleshooting Perform proper record keeping Follow established operating procedures Assist with installation and maintenance of network equipment Assist with maintenance of equipment inventories Participate in professional development to maintain and enhance technical proficiency Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned duties Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Successful job-related experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting personal computers and related peripherals Working knowledge of computer networking concepts Excellent technical, problem solving, analytical and organizational skills Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision Ability to carry out job responsibilities and handle sensitive information in a confidential manner Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work well in a team environment Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently Valid Mississippi driver’s license Satisfactory criminal background check, High School diploma, or equivalent 1 year of experience in end-user technical support

All employees hired by the school district must pass a criminal background and child abuse registry check.

PREFERRED SKILLS Associate Degree, in related technical field 5 years of experience in end-user technical support
