Lockheed Martin is designing, developing, and delivering a next-gen wideband MILSATCOM system comprised of integrated space and ground segments that will provide enhanced communications capacity, flexibility and resiliency.

This position will be a key member of the Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) team in support of the final design, development, production, integration, test, and delivery of this critical capability focused on the requirements development, decomposition, and verification.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the Requirements and Verification Engineering and Architecture and Analysis teams supporting the next-gen wideband MILSATCOM system. This includes leading efforts to:
  • Lead the development, allocation, and flow-down of both performance and functional requirements from the system to it’s constituent segments and elements
  • Coordinate closely across the SEIT team and with lower-tier systems, hardware, and software engineers to ensure a comprehensive allocation and understanding of the system requirements
  • Lead the develop verification and validation plans; lead the applicable verification and validation activities ensuring the systems both meets requirements and performs as needed
  • Lead key program design reviews Multiple locations available for this position. This position is contingent on program award, expected in 3Q 2026. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.

Requirements

  • 10 years of Systems Engineering experience
  • Demonstrated experience with SATCOM systems
  • Understanding of the analyses required in support of designing, developing, and delivering a MILSATCOM system
  • Team leadership experience
  • Requirements allocation, flowdown, and/or VCRM development experience
  • Experiencing developing and/or verification Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Experience working either Satellite or Ground Segment programs
  • MBSE experience
  • Active or Current DoD SECRET Security Clearance. Thus US Citizenship is required

Desired Skills

  • 12 years of Requirements and Verification Experience
  • Experience Architecting a system with both space and ground-based assets
  • Experience in leading key elements of executing design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc)
  • Experience developing Requirements Allocation Documentation
  • System Integration Experience
  • Familiarity with DOORS & CAMEO
  • Experience executing on fixed price contracts
  • Functional management experience
  • Active or Current TS (or SCI) Security clearance
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice # Space NSS

Full-Time Salary Range: $178500.00 - $331500.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
