Job description

  • Apply system engineering knowledge and experience to provide technical advice in designing, implementing, and developing materiel solutions to maintain/enable tactical communications compatibility with CUxS systems.
  • Apply EW and operational knowledge and experience in enabling/supporting materiel solutions development and integration of EW systems with other sensors/effectors within the family of CUxS systems.
  • Manage the technical output of design engineers, working either independently or as a team, on unstructured problems and issues involving multivariate factors based on measured empirical field test data or hypothetical data.
  • Leverage operational and tactical level military input to provide technology assessments of CUxS, systems in support of research, development, testing, and evaluation. Apply system engineering principles to compatibility assessments between CUxS and other tactical systems that may be used together or in close proximity to each other.
  • Support in the development of engineering strategies for future systems, draft system performance specifications, assist in developing the plan to assess the system performance specifications, and assist in the development of system acquisition strategies.
  • Share expertise on the technical and operational compatibility challenges of new and emerging CUxS systems with existing legacy systems and serve as the subject matter expert for emerging technology maturity assessments as potential material solutions to the evolving threat environment.
  • Assist in operational planning to enable SOF to predict system effectiveness, and to document performance through quantifiable risk assessments. Integrate engineering assessments and input in support of sensitive tactics, techniques, and procedures using CUxS materiel

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering. Alternatively, at least fifteen years’ experience with the development and improvement of Special Operations CUxS systems.
  • Experience as a Systems Engineer providing Program Management advice on the development of CUxS systems.
