Job description

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Sr. Java Software Engineer III position! This is a 12+ month contract and will be hybrid in Buffalo, NY.

This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead complex systems analysis, design, and development efforts for enterprise Java applications
  • Serve as principal application designer for critical components and major modifications
  • Direct and mentor less experienced engineers, coordinating development tasks across projects
  • Design and build scalable REST APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot
  • Drive SaaS migration initiatives, implementing OAuth 2.0, retries, idempotency, and reconciliation logic
  • Develop and deploy solutions within Azure, incorporating security, observability, and resiliency best practices
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to streamline delivery
  • Prepare technical specifications, test plans, and documentation for complex initiatives
  • Evaluate vendor software and recommend new technologies to improve system performance
  • Ensure adherence to development standards, risk protocols, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • 6+ years of systems analysis and application development experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and REST API development
  • Strong understanding of concurrency, performance tuning, and enterprise-grade testing practices
  • Proven experience with Azure cloud development, including security, observability, and resiliency
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Demonstrated expertise in enterprise API design, including OAuth 2.0, retries, and idempotency
  • Experience supporting SaaS migrations, including data validation and reconciliation processes
  • Proven mentoring and leadership capabilities within a technical project environment
