Job description

  • Design, develop, and implement complex MS SQL Server database solutions using modern technologies and best practices.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for SQL Server, including AlwaysOn availability groups, performance tuning, and capacity planning for large, high-tier environments.
  • Lead and manage multiple moderately complex projects, directing activities for special initiatives and operations.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues, drive process improvement, and promote operational excellence with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate with application teams, including App DBA stakeholders, to ensure reliable, performant database services in a project-driven environment.
  • Provide work leadership by assigning tasks, resolving problems, and guiding team members within broadly defined practices and policies.

Requirements

We are seeking a Senior MS SQL Server DBA / Application DBA to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in MS SQL Server administration, high availability, performance tuning, and automation and a proven ability to design, implement, and optimize complex database solutions while leading initiatives to operational excellence., * 10+ years of hands-on MS SQL Server administration, including installation, configuration, backup and recovery, and security.

  • Expertise with AlwaysOn availability groups, performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting in large, mission-critical environments.
  • Proven problem ownership, client accountability, and delivery within project-driven settings with minimal supervision.
  • Experience partnering with application teams and prior banking or financial services exposure, preferably on the App DBA side.
  • Proficiency with Linux administration and scripting, including Shell and Python.
  • Experience automating operational tasks, monitoring, and maintenance for NoSQL platforms such as TigerGraph.

Preferred Skills:

  • Background supporting regulated financial environments and enterprise change management processes.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and monitoring tooling for databases and data platforms., * Hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.
  • Role requires a specific start date based on business need.
