Job description

Wholesale, is 7x the size of e-commerce, yet the infrastructure is stuck in the 1990s. We’re building the agentic operating system for wholesale that replaces spreadsheets, email chains, and manual data entry with autonomous workflows that just work. We recently raised a $3.2M seed round led by Maveron.

Jampack already powers high-growth brands like Fishwife, Immi, and PATH - handling everything from purchase order ingestion to freight coordination to invoicing and payment reconciliation.

We’re a small, high-agency team building what doesn’t exist yet.

The Role

We’re hiring a founding engineer to build the core platform that powers our AI agents and our customer experience - the data pipelines, integrations, APIs, and operator console that make everything work.

The moat isn’t the model. It’s the scaffolding - the software infrastructure around the AI that connects to real-world systems and delivers real-world reliability. That’s what you’ll build.

What You’ll Do

  • Take customer-facing features from concept to production. You’ll talk to users, design the solution, build it, and watch them use it.
  • Design secure, auditable data models and event-driven pipelines that power our agent workflows
  • Develop internal and external APIs and a real-time operator console that gives customers full visibility into their operations
  • Build first-party integrations with ERPs, 3PLs, retailers, and freight partners - and a resilient sync layer that keeps everything in lockstep
  • Establish observability, SLOs, and on-call practices for mission-critical workflows where downtime means missed shipments and chargebacks
  • Work across the full stack - backend, data engineering, and frontend - wherever the highest-leverage problem lives

Requirements

  • 5+ years building production platforms or infrastructure at scale (startup experience preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript/Node, Postgres, queues/streams, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP)
  • Systems thinking paired with product intuition - you care about the developer experience and the operator experience equally
  • Versatility across backend, data engineering, and frontend. You don’t wait for someone else to build the other half
  • You want to work on hard infrastructure problems that have direct, measurable impact on real businesses
