Job description
We are seeking a highly experienced Data Architect to support a large-scale healthcare and financial data modernization program. The role will architect highly scalable, secure, and resilient data platforms supporting very large volumes of healthcare, financial, payment, transactional, historical, and legacy data.
The ideal candidate will have experience architecting platforms containing millions/billions of records and multi-year or decades-old historical data, while ensuring data integrity, reconciliation, performance, availability, security, and regulatory compliance.
The architect will lead legacy modernization, cloud migration, distributed/NoSQL data architecture, data modeling, historical data management, disaster recovery, and enterprise data governance, working closely with engineering, cloud, database, security, and business teams.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Enterprise Data Architecture, Data Architecture, Database Architecture, or Distributed Data Platforms.
- Proven experience architecting very large-scale data platforms handling millions/billions of records.
- Strong experience with large historical, legacy, and multi-year datasets.
- Strong experience with healthcare and/or financial/payment data in mission-critical environments.
- Hands-on expertise with MongoDB and/or Apache Cassandra and distributed NoSQL architectures.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, partitioning, sharding, indexing, replication, consistency, scalability, and CAP trade-offs.
- Experience designing high-throughput, low-latency, highly available and fault-tolerant data platforms.
- Strong AWS experience with EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, and CloudWatch; EKS is highly desirable.
- Experience with legacy modernization, large-scale data migration, data reconciliation, and historical data preservation.
- Strong knowledge of performance tuning, capacity planning, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Experience with data security, governance, data quality, lineage, encryption, and access control.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field., * Experience with healthcare payer, insurance, government healthcare, financial services, or payment systems.
- Experience with healthcare enrollment, eligibility, capitation, payment, claims, or financial transaction data.
- Experience with HIPAA and/or ASC X12 820/834 transactions.
- Experience with MongoDB Atlas, Amazon Keyspaces, Kubernetes/EKS, or containerized data platforms.
- Experience with Kafka, AWS Kinesis, or event-driven architectures.
- Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or other analytical platforms.
- Experience with enterprise data governance, metadata, lineage, and data-quality frameworks.
- AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or Database Specialty.
- Experience working in large government, public-sector, or regulated environments.
