Job description

Our client are seeking a Full Stack .NET Developer to join a development team supporting the modernization of a long-standing enterprise application. The current Windows desktop application is being transformed into a modern web-based platform using Next.js, React, TypeScript, .NET Core, Web Services/APIs, and Microsoft SQL Server.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Lead Developer and existing development team to accelerate development of the new platform. This is a hands-on development role requiring strong full-stack capabilities and the ability to work across the frontend, middleware/API, and backend layers.

The developer will primarily focus on building foundational functionality around various specification types, templates, properties, quality assurance components, and related technical specification data., * Develop and enhance a modern web application using Next.js, React, and TypeScript.

  • Build and maintain backend services and APIs using .NET Core.
  • Develop middleware and integrations between the web application, APIs, and database layer.
  • Design, develop, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and database interactions.
  • Build foundational application functionality related to specification types, templates, properties, and QA components.
  • Translate business and application requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Work across frontend, middleware, and backend layers to deliver end-to-end functionality.
  • Collaborate closely with the Lead Developer and existing development team on architecture, development standards, and implementation.
  • Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, debugging, and performance improvements.
  • Communicate effectively with technical team members to understand requirements, discuss challenges, and arrive at solutions.
  • Contribute to rapid development and delivery of new application functionality.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software development experience, preferably in full-stack web application development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with React.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Next.js.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript.
  • Strong experience with .NET Core / ASP.NET Core.
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and relational databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across frontend and backend technologies.
  • Experience developing production-quality enterprise applications.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a Lead Developer and distributed development team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience modernizing or migrating desktop applications to web-based platforms.
  • Experience working with complex, established enterprise applications.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Familiarity with application architecture, reusable components, and API-driven development.
  • Experience working with large or long-standing codebases.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a strong hands-on full-stack developer who is comfortable moving between frontend and backend development. While specific manufacturing or industry experience is not required, candidates should be able to quickly understand an established application and contribute to a complex development effort.

Strong communication and collaboration skills are particularly important. The developer will work closely with the Lead Developer, and the ability to clearly discuss technical requirements, challenges, and solutions will be critical to success.

Benefits & conditions

Salary/Rate: $70-$90/HR (depends on experience level). This is a contract position with candidates expected to work 40 hours/ week.
