Penetration Tester - Senior Red Team Consultant

Synergize Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Red Team Consultant to support a high-profile defence programme, working within an established Red Team Delivery Cell.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced offensive security specialist with a strong background in Red Teaming, adversary simulation and penetration testing to undertake a long-term assignment within a highly secure environment.

The successful consultant will work closely with service owners to scope Red Team targets and engagements, while also overseeing Red Team activity delivered by other teams to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the outputs.

A key focus of the role will be translating technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations that improve customer security and resilience., * Work with service owners to scope targets and Red Team engagements

• Deliver and support Red Team and adversary simulation activities
• Oversee Red Team activity delivered by other teams
• Review and assure the technical quality of Red Team outputs
• Identify vulnerabilities, attack paths and security weaknesses
• Produce clear findings, reports and actionable remediation recommendations
• Help customers strengthen their security posture and overall cyber resilience
• Apply Scripting/development skills to support offensive security activities
• Engage effectively with technical teams, service owners and customer stakeholders

• Strong commercial experience delivering Red Team or adversary simulation engagements
• Excellent offensive security and penetration-testing knowledge
• Strong technical cyber security background
• Relevant recognised Red Team/penetration-testing certifications
• Strong Scripting or software development skills
• Experience producing high-quality technical findings and recommendations
• Ability to oversee and quality-assure technical security work delivered by others
• Strong customer and stakeholder communication skills
• Willingness to travel to customer sites in Bristol, Corsham and across the South West
• Current DV clearance is essential

Experience working within MoD, Defence, National Security or similarly secure environments would be particularly advantageous.

This is not simply a standard penetration-testing position. We are particularly interested in experienced consultants who can combine strong hands-on offensive security expertise with the ability to scope engagements, assure Red Team activity and communicate meaningful security improvements to customers.

Due to the nature of the programme, applicants must already hold active DV clearance.
