AI Security Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior AI Security Engineer to join our Cyber Defence team and help build the next generation of AI-enabled Security Operations.

You’ll develop automation, AI workflows and agentic capabilities that reduce SOC analyst workload, improve triage and accelerate incident response. You’ll work closely with security and engineering teams to take solutions from concept through to secure, production-ready services.

What You’ll Do

• Build and improve SOC automation, playbooks and response workflows.
• Develop AI-assisted capabilities including summarisation, guided triage and knowledge retrieval.
• Design and secure AI agents, including appropriate controls and governance.
• Integrate security tools and data sources using APIs, webhooks and automation platforms.
• Work with SOC and Incident Response teams to deliver production-ready solutions.
• Monitor outcomes and use metrics to continuously improve automation and security operations.
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to engineering best practice.

• Strong hands-on experience in security engineering within or supporting a SOC.
• Experience with SOAR, security automation or equivalent.
• Strong Scripting/programming skills, particularly Python or PowerShell .
• Experience with APIs, integrations and security telemetry.
• Working knowledge of Azure; AWS experience is beneficial.
• Practical experience using AI/LLMs in security or operational environments, or a strong demonstrable interest in the area.
• Understanding of the security, governance and operational considerations of AI agents.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• A pragmatic, self-motivated approach and a mindset focused on continuous improvement.
