Job description

The Data Center Techs are a Tier 1, 24x7x365 operations team.

This role will work either 6am to 6pm or 6 pm to 6 am for 7 days on and 7 days off.

They monitor, identify, troubleshoot and escalate customer-facing issues within the Data Center escalation structure for servers, databases, and applications. The Data Center Tech utilizes automated scripts, monitoring systems, and written procedures to run the day to day operation of lottery systems. These operations include compiling and printing system status reports, processing draws, and nightly processing. On the job training will be provided to support SGI’s proprietary system.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd level support by troubleshooting, analyzing and resolving most incidents.
  • Operates and monitors Windows Server and Linux based systems using established procedures.
  • Monitor production environment and troubleshoot critical issues and escalate, if needed.
  • Utilizes incident management ticketing systems to report and document issues.
  • Communicate via phone and electronic notification for escalation of major issues and critical events.
  • Initiate and assist on troubleshooting conference calls.
  • Completes shift checklists and status reports as required.
  • Perform basic networking troubleshooting.
  • Perform system processing utilizing established tools and procedures.
  • Respond to inquiries and requests for assistance from Lottery customers via email and/or inbound calls.

Requirements

High school diploma (or equivalent).

1-2 years’ experience in a 24x7 data center environment
