Job description

Provide installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems software and related infrastructure.
Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes.
Reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups, both internally and externally.
Troubleshoot Linux, Apache, Java, JBOSS, OpenDS/LDAP and MySQL services. Knowledge of all layers of the OSI model, most importantly the network (layer 3) and application (layer 7).
Implement automated approaches for system administration tasks. Leverage our self-hosted Chef deployment.
Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux and CentOS, including repository management, system patching, and CLI configuration/administration.
Knowledge about DevOps Tools supporting Continuous Delivery - Chef, Bamboo, Vagrant, GIT, Maven, and Ant.
Expertise in various architect and support functions for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS Cloud environments - AWS, Rackspace, Savvis, Terremark, and GoGrid.

Requirements

Experience in networking admin/design of VPN implementations using OpenVPN/OpenSwan, LAN/WAN/Firewall configuration on Cisco routers.
Experience installing and configuring application servers, e.g. Apache, Tomcat, Jboss and database/directory servers (MySQL, OpenDS).
B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related areas.
