Job Title: Senior L3 Network Engineer Cisco, Palo Alto, SD-WAN, Cloud & OT Location: Durham, NC (Hybrid Minimum 3 days onsite per week_ Local candidates) Duration: 12 months Interview Process: Face to Face interview Position Overview: The client is looking for a highly experienced Senior L3 Network Engineer to provide advanced network engineering and support across enterprise, data center, cloud, manufacturing, and Operational Technology (OT) environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking, Palo Alto firewalls, SD-WAN, cloud networking, network micro-segmentation, OT/industrial networks, BGP, Terraform, and Ansible. Must-Have Skills, Key Responsibilities: * Provide L3 network support across enterprise, data center, cloud, and manufacturing environments.

• Design, deploy, and maintain Cisco routing and switching infrastructure.

• Manage advanced routing protocols, including:

• BGP
• OSPF
• EIGRP
• MPLS
• Route redistribution

• Configure and support Layer 2/Layer 3 technologies, including:

• VLANs
• STP
• EtherChannel
• HSRP
• QoS
• Administer Palo Alto Strata Next-Generation Firewalls, Panorama, GlobalProtect, NAT, and security policies.
• Implement Zero Trust, network segmentation, and IT/OT security controls.

• Design, deploy, and support SD-WAN solutions, including:

• Cisco SD-WAN / Viptela
• Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN
• Support compute-related projects, including the VMware vSAN project in the U.S. domestic region.

• Manage WAN connectivity across:

• MPLS
• Internet
• DIA
• VPN
• Hybrid network environments
• Design and support cloud networking across Azure, AWS, and GCP.

• Implement and maintain:

• Azure ExpressRoute
• AWS Direct Connect
• Cloud VPN
• Transit Gateway
• Virtual WAN
• Support Operational Technology (OT) networks, including manufacturing, SCADA, PLC, and industrial systems.
• Perform root cause analysis, problem management, and major incident resolution for network outages.

• Develop network automation using:

• Terraform
• Ansible
• Python
• Infrastructure-as-Code practices
• Monitor network performance, security, and availability using enterprise monitoring and security tools.
• Create technical documentation and contribute to network modernization initiatives.
• Collaborate with security, cloud, infrastructure, and other technology teams on strategic projects.
