Senior AI-Native Java Engineer

Are you an experienced software engineer ready to help reinvent the future of application development? At Accenture Netherlands, we’re looking for a Senior AI-Native Java Engineer with around 7 years of experience who combines strong Java engineering expertise with a passion for AI-Augmented Software Delivery, Agentic Engineering, and modern development practices.

As part of our Technology practice, you will help clients transform traditional software engineering into AI-powered, high-performing delivery organizations.

What you’ll do:

• Design and develop enterprise-scale applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Cloud technologies.
• Drive adoption of AI-Augmented SDLC practices across the software development lifecycle.
• Build AI-powered solutions leveraging LLMs, AI agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and intelligent automation.
• Implement Spec-Driven Development using OpenAPI, AsyncAPI, and API-first engineering methodologies.
• Collaborate with architects, AI engineers, consultants, and client teams to deliver innovative business solutions.
• Mentor engineering teams and help establish best practices for AI-Native Engineering.

You will join multidisciplinary teams consisting of software engineers, architects, AI specialists, platform engineers, and business consultants. Together, we help organizations reinvent how software is designed, built, tested, deployed, and operated through the power of AI.

We go to market by industry, leveraging our global delivery network and strategic ecosystem partnerships with Microsoft, AWS, Google, and leading AI technology providers.

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• Experience: Approximately 7 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Technical Skills:
• Java 17+, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs
• Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)
• DevOps, CI/CD, GitOps, and Platform Engineering
• Distributed systems and modern software architecture

• API-First and Spec-Driven Development

• AI Engineering Experience:
• AI-Augmented SDLC
• Generative AI and LLM-based solutions
• AI Agents and Agentic Workflows
• RAG and modern AI application architectures

• AI-powered developer tooling and engineering productivity platforms

• Leadership: Strong communication skills, technical leadership, growth mindset, and a passion for continuous innovation.

Dutch language skills are a strong advantage, as many of our engagements involve close collaboration with Dutch-speaking clients and stakeholders. Bonus points for

• Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP)
• Experience with AI governance and Responsible AI
• Knowledge of vector databases and knowledge retrieval architectures
• Experience with Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs)
• Contributions to open-source projects or engineering communities
