We operate in a collaborative, high-trust environment and partner closely with firmware, platform, and product teams to ensure the end-to-end experience is fast, robust, and ready for what’s next., As a Senior Software Engineer on the UI team, you’ll design, implement, and optimize systems that underpin Roku’s user experience and developer platform. You’ll work on performance-critical code paths for graphics rendering, animation, layout, and UI frameworks, ensuring buttery-smooth visuals and instant responsiveness across a wide range of devices. You’ll help shape core architecture, collaborate across the stack with hardware, firmware, and application teams, and see your work directly impact tens of millions of users. • Integrate AI/ML capabilities and leverage generative AI tools to accelerate development and improve developer productivity

• Develop engineering tooling, frameworks, and automated workflows that raise developer efficiency and code quality
• Mentor junior developers through design reviews, pair programming, and clear technical documentation

• Minimum of 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on UI frameworks or application development
• Advanced BrightScript (or JavaScript-like) skills and proficiency in Python
• Experience using Typescript is a plus!
• Knowledge and hands-on experience using C++
• Strong root cause analysis skills and clear, effective technical communication
• Knowledge of AI applications and hands-on experience with generative AI tools and workflows
• A proactive mindset with passion for continuous learning, fast iteration, and data-driven optimization
