Job description

  • This is a video interview, so please have your camera on and ensure you are somewhere with a strong Internet connection.
  • Expect a 30-minute technical/conversational interview, starting with introductions and an overview of your background and recent projects.
  • They will be looking for clear communication and may ask scenario-based questions around problem solving, technical decision-making, stakeholder management and overcoming complex delivery challenges.
  • They want someone who can hit the ground running, work proactively and take ownership of technical requirements.
  • Prepare 2-3 recent examples demonstrating your hands-on development experience, troubleshooting/problem solving and successful delivery of D365/Power Platform solutions.
  • Re-familiarise yourself with your CV and be prepared to explain what you personally designed, configured or developed, rather than only describing the wider project.

Be confident discussing:

  • Dynamics 365 Sales configuration and customisation.
  • Customer Insights - Journeys/Real Time Marketing , including configuration, journeys, segments, triggers and marketing automation.
  • Power Apps development and performance optimisation - including examples of how you’ve diagnosed or improved application performance.
  • Power Automate workflows and process automation.
  • Dataverse, C# plugins, workflows, APIs and troubleshooting.
  • Azure-based integrations , particularly Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus and API-based integrations, including why you would choose one approach over another.
  • Working with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Strong Core Java/Java 8+ - including OOP, Collections, Streams, Optional, functional interfaces and exception handling
  • Strong understanding of Java design patterns and software engineering principles
  • Databricks experience - mandatory, with hands-on testing of ETL/ELT and data pipelines
  • Advanced SQL for complex data validation, reconciliation and transformation testing
  • Experience designing reusable, maintainable and extensible automation frameworks
  • Strong REST API automation, ideally using REST Assured
  • JUnit, Cucumber and TDD/BDD
  • CI/CD and automated quality gates
  • Strong understanding of when to use automated vs manual testing
  • Banking/financial services experience strongly preferred

Candidates should be comfortable being technically assessed on Core Java, SQL, framework design and Databricks/data-testing concepts.
