AI Platform Engineer

As Agentic AI Platform Engineer, you’ll help build the secure AWS-based platform that other teams across the business use for AI products - taking ideas from design through to production, and making sure the platform stays reliable, easy to use and genuinely useful for real business work. This is a hands-on role: building services, improving quality, supporting teams that use the platform, and feeding what you learn back into the roadmap, while shaping engineering decisions early in the capability’s life., * Build and maintain the AWS-based platform used across the business for AI products

• Take ideas from design into reliable, production-ready services
• Apply the platform to real use cases and support it once live
• Solve practical problems around reliability, quality and cost
• Create reusable engineering patterns for other teams to build on
• Partner closely with QA, Product, Architecture and Production Support

• 4+ years’ experience in software engineering, with significant microservice-driven Java experience
• Strong AWS experience (ECS/Fargate, Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, CloudFormation, CloudWatch)
• Experience with AWS AI services, particularly Amazon Bedrock
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD and DevOps in an Agile environment
• Experience with AI-driven engineering tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, Amazon Q/Kiro)
• Right to work in Northern Ireland (no sponsorship available)

Desirable

• AWS certification, including AI/ML or Bedrock-specific training
• Hands-on experience with agent frameworks or orchestration tooling (Bedrock AgentCore, Strands, LangGraph, MCP)
• Experience building or contributing to an internal developer platform
• Event-driven architecture/messaging experience (Kafka, AWS MSK)
• Familiarity with Python or TypeScript
• Experience delivering across time zones with US-based teams
