Job description

Our client, a Global Leader in Automation Systems, has an immediate opening for a Software/Controls Commissioning Engineer for a 12-month+ contract. You will also have the opportunity to work with other like-minded, self-directed, and detail-oriented Top Talents in an extremely collaborative and professional environment., Software commissioning teams work closely with commissioning and development teams, which are responsible for designing equipment emulation models used during the testing and commissioning of Automated Systems., * Build equipment emulation models for use during in-house software testing

  • Demonstrate emulation to testing, commissioning and development teams
  • Execute integration test plan
  • Participate in software functional tests using an equipment emulation model
  • Commission software on-site with material handling equipment
  • Provide start-up and post go-live support
  • Log file review for troubleshooting
  • Retrieving data from an Oracle database using SQL
  • Participate in on-call rotation

Requirements

  • An Associate’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience - must be familiar with Java
  • 3 years with Software Commissioning/Troubleshooting. Ideally, in a Warehouse Automation or Material Handling environment.
  • Ability to read mechanical layout drawings preferred
  • Experience retrieving data from Oracle Database using SQL
  • Some mechanical/Electrical know-how. Our client’s software interacts with physical systems, so the selected candidate would need to be aware that issues that arise may not be software-related, but may involve a physical system component that contributes to an error.
  • Familiarity with unit testing preferred
  • Familiarity with automated testing and functional testing preferred
