Data Analysis & Programming Tutor

Location: U.S. Coast Guard Academy, 33 Mohegan Avenue, New London, CT 06320 Schedule:

• Sunday-Thursday, 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• One additional weekday (3:00 PM - 7:00 PM) for faculty coordination and additional tutoring
• Services provided during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters

Subjects Covered:

• Data Analysis & Visualization
• Principles of Programming
• Tools for Business Intelligence

Tasks:

• Conduct individual and group tutoring sessions for cadets.
• Explain programming concepts, coding techniques, data analysis methods, and software tools.
• Assist students with assignments, programming projects, and exam preparation.
• Maintain weekly tutoring records and student attendance documentation.
• Coordinate weekly with faculty to ensure tutoring aligns with current coursework.
• Identify students requiring additional academic assistance and communicate concerns to instructors.
• Provide professional academic support in an on-campus learning environment.

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Minimum one (1) year of tutoring experience in higher education.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience collaborating with faculty in higher education.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
