SQL Developer

STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a SQL Developer on behalf of our client in Woodbridge, VA. This role is ideal for a data-focused professional with strong expertise in SQL development, database management, data analysis, and process automation. The successful candidate will support enterprise-level database initiatives, optimize data processes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions. Experience with GIS technologies and asset management systems is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, procedures, and database objects. Perform database design, data modeling, performance tuning, and query optimization. Conduct advanced data analysis and generate reports to support business operations. Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python and SQL/PSQL. Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with established business rules. Support database administration activities and troubleshoot data-related issues. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions. Assist in project planning, task coordination, risk identification, and deliverable tracking. Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge-sharing materials. Mentor team members and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.

Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Geography, GIS, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in database development, database management, or data analysis. Strong experience with Oracle databases and SQL development tools such as SQL Developer, TOAD, and SQL*Plus. Experience with PostgreSQL and PSQL development. Proficiency in Python scripting and automation. Strong knowledge of database design principles, data modeling, and performance optimization. Ability to analyze complex datasets and provide meaningful business insights. Experience managing project tasks, schedules, and deliverables. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, or ArcGIS Enterprise environments. Experience with Trimble Cityworks or other asset management platforms. Knowledge of geodatabase versioning and enterprise GIS workflows. Experience developing spatial databases, GIS reports, and data visualizations. Familiarity with GitHub, Visio, Lucidchart, and technical diagramming tools. Utility industry experience, particularly within water, wastewater, or infrastructure environments. Experience publishing services through ArcGIS Server and supporting enterprise GIS environments.
