Job description

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs primarily using TypeScript.
  • Build and evolve backend applications using Node.js and preferably NestJS.
  • Design cloud-native services with high availability, resilience and performance in mind.
  • Develop and maintain microservices and event-driven systems.
  • Design backend components with strong reliability, observability and security principles.
  • Build well-structured REST APIs and service-to-service integrations.
  • Design and optimize database models, queries and application performance.
  • Collaborate closely with frontend, platform and security engineers.
  • Write clean, modular, testable and well-documented production-grade code.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to backend architecture and engineering standards.
  • Troubleshoot production incidents, performance bottlenecks and issues across distributed environments.
  • Take ownership of backend features and services from design through deployment and ongoing operation.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced Mid-Level or Senior Backend Engineer with at least 4 years of professional software development experience, with a strong background in backend TypeScript development., * 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, primarily in backend development.

  • Strong professional experience with TypeScript and Node.js for backend development.
  • Hands-on experience designing and building production backend applications and APIs.
  • Experience with NestJS is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of server-side architecture, API design and service-oriented development.
  • Hands-on experience with microservices, distributed systems and common backend design patterns.
  • Solid experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, including data modeling and query optimization.
  • Experience working with ORMs or data-access frameworks such as Prisma, TypeORM or similar.
  • Good understanding of asynchronous programming and background processing.
  • Experience with observability, structured logging, monitoring and debugging production systems.
  • Strong understanding of testing, maintainability, clean code and secure coding practices.
  • Ability to independently own technical problems and deliver production-ready solutions.

Nice to have

  • Strong hands-on experience with NestJS in production environments.
  • Experience with Redis and distributed caching.
  • Familiarity with queues and asynchronous processing technologies such as BullMQ, NATS, Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Experience designing event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker and cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Exposure to domain-driven design, clean architecture or similar architectural approaches.
  • Experience with authentication, authorization and identity platforms such as Keycloak or Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Experience building multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
  • Experience with high-traffic systems or complex third-party integrations.
  • Awareness of secure SDLC, DevSecOps and compliance-driven engineering.
  • Experience with Go or Python as an additional backend language is a plus., Candidates should have at least 4 years of relevant professional software engineering experience and substantial hands-on experience building backend applications with TypeScript and Node.js.
  • We are particularly interested in engineers who have worked with NestJS in production and are comfortable taking ownership of backend services, APIs and distributed systems.
