Front End Developer

As a Digital Developer, you’ll be responsible for developing responsive, accessible and high-quality user interfaces using React, Next.js and TypeScript.

You’ll work closely with design and product teams to create intuitive user experiences, developing applications backed by internal APIs and search indexes. You’ll contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from initial requirements and development through to testing, deployment and ongoing enhancement.

We’re looking for a skilled Frontend/Digital Developer with strong experience building modern web applications and working with APIs within cloud-based environments.

You’ll ideally have:

• Proven experience as a Frontend Developer, Digital Developer or Software Developer
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Strong commercial experience with React
• Experience with Next.js
• Strong TypeScript experience
• Experience integrating frontend applications with APIs
• Experience working with Git and version control
• Experience working with Azure and/or AWS
• Experience with databases and search technologies
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch and SQL-based databases
• Understanding of UX/UI principles
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

• Experience working with PyGeoAPI
• Experience with Jira and Confluence
• Experience developing accessible digital services
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD
