Senior AWS DevOps

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to take a leading role in the design, build and delivery of cloud infrastructure and automation.Our client works with organisations across public sector and other complex, regulated environments, designing, building and operating secure, resilient cloud environments.This is a hands-on senior engineering role, combining deep AWS and DevOps expertise with technical ownership, client engagement and the ability to guide other engineers and influence engineering practices.The RoleAs a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer, you’ll take technical ownership of cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code and deployment automation across client engagements.You’ll work closely with architects, engineers, security specialists and client teams to design and implement solutions that are secure, resilient, scalable and repeatable.Alongside hands-on engineering, you’ll provide technical leadership, help establish engineering standards and practices, support less experienced engineers and contribute to key technical decisions throughout delivery.What You’ll DoLead the design, build and evolution of secure AWS cloud infrastructure and DevOps capabilitiesDesign and maintain scalable, secure and automated CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or GitHubOwn infrastructure-as-code approaches using Terraform, ensuring environments are repeatable, maintainable and compliantDefine and promote engineering standards, patterns and best practices across delivery teamsEmbed automation across build, test, deployment and operational workflowsApply DevSecOps and security-by-design principles throughout the delivery lifecycleDesign, deploy and operate containerised workloads using Kubernetes and AWS services such as ECS and EKSWork with architects and security specialists on cloud architecture, networking, identity, security and integration requirementsImplement effective monitoring, observability, logging and alerting to support resilient servicesProvide technical leadership during complex troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure and deployment issuesEngage with clients and technical stakeholders to understand requirements, explain technical decisions and provide recommendationsMentor and support engineers, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous improvementIdentify opportunities to improve engineering practices, automation, reliability and delivery efficiencyWhat We’re Looking ForCurrent SC clearance is highly desirable given the nature and timescales of client engagements. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain SC clearanceSignificant hands-on experience designing, building and operating solutions within Amazon Web Services (AWS)Strong knowledge of AWS compute, networking, identity, security and container servicesStrong experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or GitHubDemonstrable expertise with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code at scaleStrong understanding of Kubernetes architecture and operating containerised workloads in cloud environmentsGood understanding of DevSecOps, OWASP principles and security-by-designExperience designing and implementing monitoring, logging and observability solutionsStrong scripting skills using Python, Bash, PowerShell or similarExperience making technical design decisions and providing engineering leadership within multidisciplinary teamsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across complex cloud environmentsConfidence working directly with clients and communicating technical concepts, decisions and recommendationsExperience working within Agile delivery environmentsExperience supporting and mentoring other engineersAWS Professional-level certification, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional or Solutions Architect - ProfessionalStrong experience delivering solutions for public sector, defence or other regulated clientsExperience working within secure environments and understanding the associated security and assurance requirementsExperience contributing to technical designs, architecture decisions and engineering standards #J-18808-Ljbffr
