Automotive Technical Specialist

Company DescriptionMSX International supports leading automotive brands worldwide, helping improve repair performance, customer satisfaction, and aftersales operations across80+ countries.Job DescriptionWe’re looking for an experienced automotive diagnostic specialist to support dealerships and repairers withcomplex vehicle issues.You’ll be the escalation point when others can’t fix it - helping reduce downtime and deliverfirst-time-right repairs.What you’ll doServe as the first point of contact for repair requests and technical questions from technicians.Provide technical support and remote guidance, using diagnostic best practices and OEM procedures.Communicate directly with technicians in the local language to clarify concerns, gather symptoms and DTCs, and validate the steps taken.Perform the initial triage, document cases thoroughly, and determine the resolution path or escalation criteria.Escalate unresolved or complex cases to Level 2 support with complete, structured case information.Adhere to established process standards, SLAs, and data quality requirements in all interactions and tools.Support and guide repairs for OTA updates and basic troubleshooting for software updates.Accurately record case notes, solutions, and knowledge artifacts, maintaining them to improve first-repair rates.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share recurring issues, trends, and improvement opportunities.Contribute to continuous improvement by following standardized workflows and proposing process improvements.QualificationsWhat you bringStrong experience inautomotive diagnostics / technical support / workshop or field serviceProven ability to fixcomplex electrical/electronic faultsHands-on use ofOEM diagnostic toolsConfidence readingwiring diagrams and technical documentationExperience working with workshops, engineering, or technical teamsAbility to support and guide techniciansPreferred: experience in field-based or multi-site support, multi-brand exposure with an OEM/importer technical support backgroundTechnical knowledgeModern vehicle systems:powertrain, ADAS, body electronicsNetworks:CAN / LIN / FlexRayDiagnostic methods:root cause analysis, guided diagnostics, flashingLanguageWorking proficiency in Portugees and professional English required (written and spoken)Additional European languages are a plusAdditional InformationMSX is an equal opportunities employer and encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, neurodiversity or other personal characteristics and backgrounds, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, or marital and parental status.
