Software Engineer - SC Cleared

You’ll be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining software solutions, working closely with technical teams and customers to deliver reliable, scalable and secure applications.

The role will involve:

• Developing backend software using Java and/or C++
• Working within Linux-based environments
• Designing and developing APIs, microservices and distributed applications
• Contributing to technical design and architectural decisions
• Troubleshooting and resolving complex software issues
• Developing highly performant, scalable and secure solutions
• Working with Docker and containerised applications
• Contributing to CI/CD and DevSecOps practices
• Conducting code reviews and maintaining high engineering standards
• Working with Git, GitLab and Bitbucket
• Supporting and mentoring more junior engineers

• 5+ years’ commercial software development experience
• Strong experience with Java and/or C++
• Experience working in Linux environments
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software design
• Experience developing backend applications, APIs and distributed systems
• Understanding of multithreading and concurrency
• Experience with software debugging and performance optimisation
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD technologies
• Good understanding of Git
• Experience working within an Agile environment
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

SECURITY CLEARANCE

Active SC clearance is required for this position.

You must also be eligible and willing to obtain DV clearance due to the nature of the work and access required.
