Job description
OM Group, Inc. is hiring a Cloud Architect, who will be responsible for designing and implementing secure, scalable, and resilient cloud architectures that support enterprise and mission-critical systems. This role leads the technical strategy for cloud adoption, migration, and optimization across cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. The Cloud Architect works closely with engineering, cybersecurity, and program leadership to ensure cloud solutions meet performance, compliance, and cost objectives while supporting long-term technical growth and modernization. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures that support enterprise applications and mission systems.
- Lead cloud strategy, including migration of on-premises systems to cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Architect infrastructure solutions including networking, compute, storage, identity management, and disaster recovery.
- Develop infrastructure as code solutions using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, or similar automation frameworks.
- Establish and enforce cloud security best practices aligned with frameworks such as NIST, FedRAMP, CIS benchmarks, and organizational security policies.
- Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, cybersecurity, and program leadership to design cloud environments that meet performance, compliance, and cost objectives.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Monitor system performance, reliability, and cost optimization through cloud-native monitoring and analytics tools.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and technical staff implementing cloud solutions.
- Develop documentation including architecture diagrams, technical standards, and operational procedures.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or cloud engineering roles.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience architecting enterprise cloud solutions in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Demonstrated expertise designing secure, highly available, and scalable cloud architectures.
- Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Experience implementing DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts including VPCs, load balancing, VPNs, firewalls, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Experience implementing security and compliance controls aligned with frameworks such as NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, or CMMC.
- Ability to analyze system requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Cloud certification such as AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect preferred.
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance Required
