Job description

  • Operate and maintain multi-user computer systems and infrastructure supporting Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) training environments.
  • Monitor, control, and troubleshoot complex data communications networks to ensure system availability and performance.
  • Activate and deactivate Distributed Training Center (DTC) systems for scheduled events while providing Tier I/II support.
  • Configure and maintain systems including operating system updates, software installations, system imaging, and video teleconferencing (VTC) setup.
  • Ensure system security and compliance with DoD Information Systems security requirements and protocols.
  • Create and manage user and computer accounts within Microsoft Active Directory environments.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical documentation, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with vendors and evaluate third-party tools, systems, and services.
  • Support backup, recovery, and patch management processes across enterprise environments.
  • Troubleshoot hybrid environments including Windows and Linux-based systems.
  • Analyze customer requirements and implement technical solutions to support mission needs.
  • Maintain and support virtualized environments including VMware ESX while ensuring network compatibility.
  • Report system status and project updates to stakeholders and support occasional shift work aligned to mission schedules.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline with 5 years of experience or Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience or Master’s degree with 0 years of experience or 7+ years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • Ability to obtain and maintain SAP/SAR access
  • Must possess or be able to obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP, or CASP) within 6 months
  • Experience managing Windows Server operating systems and domain architectures
  • Strong understanding of system administration, troubleshooting, and infrastructure support
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction in a mission-focused environment
  • Ability to support occasional shift work based on operational requirements
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI, * Experience with virtualization technologies including VMware ESX and provisioning storage/networking
  • Familiarity with Windows 10, Windows Server 2012R2/2016, Active Directory, and RedHat Linux
  • Experience developing SOPs and system cold-start documentation
  • Experience with patch deployment, backup and recovery solutions, and system reporting
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Batch, Bash, or Python for automation
  • Working knowledge of DIS/HLA protocols and basic networking concepts
  • CCNA certification or equivalent networking knowledge
