Job description

Kaiser Permanente seeks a Director of Systems Administration to lead the strategy, design, and operation of our mission-critical infrastructure. You will manage a team responsible for secure, highly available server and cloud environments that power healthcare systems at scale. Partnering with security, development, and operations, you’ll drive standards, automation, and best practices, oversee incident response and capacity planning, and guide technology roadmaps. This leadership role requires deep technical expertise, strong people management skills, and a passion for reliability and continuous improvement., * Lead and manage the systems administration team supporting Kaiser Permanente’s core infrastructure

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable server and cloud environments
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of critical systems and services
  • Develop and enforce systems standards, policies, and procedures
  • Oversee system monitoring, incident response, and root-cause analysis
  • Collaborate with security, development, and operations teams on architecture and integrations
  • Plan and execute upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning
  • Manage vendor relationships, licensing, and technology roadmaps
  • Mentor team members and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Prepare and present infrastructure performance and risk reports to leadership
