Job description

Come Join Our Team! DKW Communications, Inc. (DKW) is a government contractor providing professional and technical services to various government agencies i.e. defense, law enforcement and security. We are currently looking for a Junior Hardware Engineer to join our winning team. The individual hired for this position will provide support for our government customer located in Kingsville, TX. This is an onsite position., The individual hired for this position will support In-Service Engineering Office (ISEO) functions in the modification of the T-45 2F138E Operation Flight Trainers (OFTs) serial numbers 1-6, T-45 2F138F Operation Flight Trainers (OFTs) serial numbers 1-6, and the T-45 2F205A OFT trainer serial numbers 1-6. Specific duties will include:

  • Support the ISEO functions in updating navigational data, approach plates, and implementing fleet developed scenarios.
  • Support the ISEO functions in performing a trainer design modifications for ABOS, ADSB-out, TACAN/VHF radio, GINA, and hardware upgrades.
  • Configuring existing or new computers, designing and fabricating panels or harnesses, installing new mounting hardware, and installing new cables and connectors.
  • Assist the ISEO in modifying installation scripts and cold start instructions to install new software with minimal operator intervention, modifying existing trainer specific software on the IO computer and Data Capture computer to be compatible with the new simulation while maintaining existing trainer functionality, updating trainer documentation, preparing for and participating in the installation of software and hardware changes.
  • Assist the ISEO in creating images of all new computer configurations and providing the images to the CNATRA Configuration Manager.
  • Additional tasking, not listed above, in support of these efforts may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret security clearance required to start.
  • Minimum of B.S. in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Previous hardware design and integration experience.
  • Must have an IAT Level I certification or higher (or obtain within 6 months of hire), * Bachelor’s (Required)

Experience:

  • hardware design: 1 year (Required)

Security clearance:

  • Secret (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

  • Kingsville, TX 78363 (Required)
