Job description
As an Industry Automation Consultant, youāll be responsible for working with both internal and external partners to provide Life and Annuity industry data file support for Brighthouseās distributor and vendor partners such as DTCC and DST. This role reports to the Director, Industry Automation. This position will take a lead role in overseeing projects from an Industry Automation perspective. Responsibilities will include working with internal and external partners to solicit feedback and gather requirements, user acceptance testing and working with project partners to ensure requirements are translated, designed, and deployed as expected.
In this role, youāll get to:
- Serve as subject matter expert for industry automation processes, data files, and technology.
- Work with internal partners during the introduction of new life and annuity products, system enhancements, system conversions or industry projects to develop, implement, and test requirements.
- Work with external distribution partners who are impacted by Brighthouse projects to identify requirements, communicate any external impacts, and test any distributor-specific requirements.
- Engage in the support of ongoing production data files, which would include execution of day-to-day automation responsibilities and working with distributors, vendors, and internal business partners to answer questions and troubleshoot production issues. This would include researching questions and issues, identifying and helping to resolve file defects, and supporting day-to-day activities.
- This individual should possess a strong understanding of both the Brighthouse technology and industry trends and usage of data files.
- Attend and participate in industry calls and meetings as a representative of Brighthouse.
- Identify opportunities to enhance existing processes to increase efficiency.
- Establish working relationships with distributors and vendor partners to engage and liaison when support is needed from such partners to meet Brighthouse Financial requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the insurance industry. Knowledge of life and annuity products with a desired focus on new business and post issue processes.
- Preferred 2 years of experience with business requirement development, user acceptance testing, and project management skills.
- Preferred experience with industry-standard testing and issue-tracking tools, including JIRA or similar.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with annuity and life industry files utilized vendors such as DTCC and DST.
- Comfortable working on a dynamic team with shifting responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills - including oral and written communications, relationship building, collaboration, influencing, negotiation and conflict mediation - across a broad range of levels in the organization.
- Analytical capabilities and business judgment. Operates effectively in the face of ambiguity.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage time efficiently in order to meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
