Front End Software Development

Job description

Are you passionate about building tools that help teams make better decisions? We’re looking for a Front End Engineer II to join our team in AWS Infrastructure, where we build the software and tooling that powers AWS’s Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. You’ll work with React, TypeScript, and AWS services-including Amazon Bedrock and Claude-to create intuitive dashboards, planning tools, and data visualizations that directly influence how AWS plans and operates at scale.

This is a high-impact role on a small, fast-moving team where your work is visible to senior leaders and business stakeholders across the organization. If you thrive in environments where you can ship quickly, collaborate closely with customers, and see your code make a real difference-this is the role for you., Design, develop, and maintain front-end applications using React and TypeScript that support AWS S&OP planning workflows

Build interactive dashboards and data visualization tools that surface complex supply chain and planning data in clear, actionable ways

Integrate with AWS services including Amazon Bedrock and Claude to deliver AI-powered features within internal planning tools

Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements, iterate on designs, and deliver solutions that meet real operational needs

Contribute to front-end architecture decisions, code reviews, and engineering best practices for a growing codebase

Own features end-to-end-from technical design through deployment and monitoring

A day in the life

You’ll start your day reviewing pull requests and syncing with teammates on a small, tight-knit team. By mid-morning, you might be pairing with a business stakeholder to walk through a dashboard prototype, gathering feedback on how to make S&OP data more intuitive. After lunch, you’re heads-down building a new React component that visualizes planning forecasts, wiring it up to backend APIs and testing edge cases. You’ll wrap up by shipping a feature to production and dropping a quick update in Slack. No two days look the same-but every day, your work helps AWS plan smarter.

About the team

We’re a small, fast-paced team within AWS Infrastructure focused on building the software and tooling behind AWS’s S&OP process. Think of us as a startup inside Amazon-we move quickly, wear multiple hats, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with business stakeholders who rely on our tools daily. We value ownership, pragmatism, and shipping things that actually work. Our tech stack is modern (React, TypeScript, AWS services, Bedrock/Claude), and we’re always looking for ways to push the envelope on what internal tooling can do.

Requirements

  • Experience building reusable UX components or libraries
  • 2+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience
  • Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as angular and react
  • Rapidly prototype solutions using AI coding tools, get direct customer feedback, and iterate quickly-without heavy documentation overhead.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node
  • 2+ years of delivering design solutions as a UX designer or interaction designer experience
