Dean of Technology Services/CIO

The Dean of Technology Services/CIO provides strategy, vision and leadership in aligning the needs of students, faculty and staff with information technology solutions. This position oversees the development and implementation of the technology plan; providing direction and oversight for computing and telecommunication equipment and services to meet the needs of the College community.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Provides leadership, vision and management to the Technology Services departmentSelects, supervises, trains, motivates and evaluates a team of information technology professionalsResponsible for the College network and systems, all telecommunication systems, media equipment and systems, servers and server management and technical support for the College communityOversees the revision and ensures compliance with the College’s Technology PlanOversees the development, design and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packagesMeets with stakeholders to assess new computing technologies and the feasibility of system enhancements to determine potential value for the college Ensures the continual functioning of mission critical operationsDevelops, reviews and evaluates all backup and disaster recovery procedures and plans specific to areas of responsibilityOversees technology related aspects of all College construction and renovation projectsProvides project coordination, planning and leadership for all technology projects ensuring scope and direction of each project is on schedule and within budgetServes as co-chair for the Technology CommitteeParticipates in appropriate committees and task forces as assignedPerforms other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the College’s mission, core values and goals
