Job description

  • Lead roadway design tasks for transportation projects, including roadway geometry, grading, maintenance of traffic, signing and pavement markings, drainage coordination, and related roadway improvements.
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, design calculations, quantities, cost estimates, specifications, and other project deliverables.
  • Develop project work plans and coordinate roadway design activities with other engineering disciplines.
  • Lead and mentor engineers and design staff, providing technical direction and reviewing work for quality and accuracy.
  • Participate in design reviews and develop practical solutions to complex roadway design and constructability issues.
  • Coordinate with project managers, clients, agencies, subconsultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Support quality control and ensure designs comply with applicable MDOT, AASHTO, and other relevant design standards.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Level 1 & 2 Engineers: 1-7 years of experience.
  • Senior Engineers: 5+ years of experience.
  • Certifications:
  • Level 1 & 2: FE preferred.
  • Senior: FE required, PE preferred.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation or similar software.
  • Strong knowledge of roadway design principles, standards, and transportation project delivery., * Bachelor’s (Required)

Experience:

  • Civil engineering: 3 years (Required)
  • Transportation Engineering: 3 years (Preferred)

Language:

  • English (Required)

License/Certification:

  • Drivers License (Required)

Ability to Commute:

  • Lansing, MI 48906 (Preferred)

Pay: $67,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
