Job description
- Lead roadway design tasks for transportation projects, including roadway geometry, grading, maintenance of traffic, signing and pavement markings, drainage coordination, and related roadway improvements.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, design calculations, quantities, cost estimates, specifications, and other project deliverables.
- Develop project work plans and coordinate roadway design activities with other engineering disciplines.
- Lead and mentor engineers and design staff, providing technical direction and reviewing work for quality and accuracy.
- Participate in design reviews and develop practical solutions to complex roadway design and constructability issues.
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, agencies, subconsultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Support quality control and ensure designs comply with applicable MDOT, AASHTO, and other relevant design standards.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Level 1 & 2 Engineers: 1-7 years of experience.
- Senior Engineers: 5+ years of experience.
- Certifications:
- Level 1 & 2: FE preferred.
- Senior: FE required, PE preferred.
- Proficiency in MicroStation or similar software.
- Strong knowledge of roadway design principles, standards, and transportation project delivery., * Bachelor’s (Required)
Experience:
- Civil engineering: 3 years (Required)
- Transportation Engineering: 3 years (Preferred)
Language:
- English (Required)
License/Certification:
- Drivers License (Required)
Ability to Commute:
- Lansing, MI 48906 (Preferred)
