Job description

We are looking for an Mobile Test Automation Engineer for a 16-month project in Brussels, working 50% on site and 50% remotely. You will automate end-to-end mobile customer journeys across native iOS and Android applications and screens delivered through an embedded Flutter-based SDK. The start date is as soon as possible., * Design, implement, and maintain automated end-to-end scenarios for iOS and Android user journeys.

  • Automate transitions between native interfaces and SDK-provided screens.
  • Translate business scenarios and acceptance criteria into robust, reusable automated tests.
  • Prepare and manage test data and prerequisites for repeatable execution.
  • Execute test suites on supported real devices, emulators, and simulators.
  • Analyse failures and document defects with reproducible evidence.
  • Distinguish application defects from test-script, environment, and test-data issues.
  • Integrate test execution and reporting into the delivery process.
  • Improve test-suite reliability, execution time, maintainability, and diagnostic quality.
  • Document the testing approach, coverage, operating instructions, and known limitations.
  • Share knowledge with testers and developers.
  • Deliver test automation incrementally within Agile sprints and provide rapid, factual feedback.
  • Continuously challenge and improve testability, acceptance criteria, and the testing approach.

Requirements

  • You have at least six years of software testing experience.
  • You have strong hands-on mobile automation experience across iOS and Android.
  • You have strong hands-on experience with Appium for native, embedded, and hybrid interfaces.
  • You have a good command of Java and Selenium-based automation.
  • You have experience with BDD practices using Cucumber and Gherkin.
  • You have experience designing maintainable automation frameworks and reusable components.
  • You have experience testing on real devices, emulators, and simulators.
  • You have experience with device setup, element inspection, and execution troubleshooting.
  • You have experience with Perfecto or an equivalent enterprise mobile device testing platform.
  • You have experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and analysing results.
  • You have good knowledge of Git, Maven, Jenkins or equivalent tooling, and TestNG or a comparable test runner.
  • You can interpret logs, screenshots, and execution evidence for defect analysis.
  • You have sound knowledge of testing standards and test-design principles.
  • You have experience working within an Agile delivery methodology.
  • English proficiency.
