Job description

This surge-support role provides additional Technical Support Management (TSM) expertise during periods when the OPC Program Office requires extra capacity for TSM software upgrades, system testing, and trial-event surges. The TSM Specialist works alongside the Local TSM Administrator to maintain configuration control of the TSM system during upgrade and testing windows, supports trial events, and helps ensure all equipment remains compliant with Authorization to Operate (ATO) requirements., * Provide surge support to the Local TSM Administrator during TSM system upgrades, software testing, and trial-event surges

  • Support TSM software upgrade activities required by the Navy to maintain configuration control of the TSM system
  • Assist with deficiency record entry, tracking, and resolution during high-volume periods
  • Support trial events as needed - dock trials, builder’s trials, and acceptance trials
  • Validate that supporting equipment remains compliant with Authorization to Operate (ATO) rules and regulations
  • Provide proficient use of the TSM system and the ETC tool to manage ship construction deficiency records
  • Document upgrade activities, test results, and lessons learned
  • Provide status reports and briefings as requested by the Project Manager and COg
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Do you have experience in Record keeping?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Active Secret-level security clearance required

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution OR four (4) or more years of relevant experience
  • Proficient in the use of the Government TSM system and the ETC tool
  • Expertise in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of ship construction deficiency records management processes
  • Ability to work flexible hours during surge periods, including occasional evenings or weekends to support trial events
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior TSM or ETC tool experience on a Navy or USCG shipbuilding program
  • CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent DoD 8570/8140 IAT credential
  • Experience supporting acceptance trials, builder’s trials, or sea trials
  • Familiarity with USCG OPC, NSC, or similar acquisition programs

Other Requirements:

  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Must obtain a DHS Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Must execute DHS Non-Disclosure Agreement (DHS Form 11000-6) as a condition of employment
  • Position may require moderate walking and movement through an active shipyard and OPCs under construction
  • Hours are variable and surge-driven; coordination with the Local TSM Administrator and Project Manager is required
  • Work is performed on-site at the OPC Program Office in Mobile, AL

  • Non-Physical demands: Frequently requires performing multiple tasks simultaneously, working closely with others as part of a team, and tedious or exacting work. Occasionally requires time pressures, emergency situations, and frequent change of tasks. Rarely requires irregular schedule/overtime and noisy/distracting environment.
  • Work environment: Generally, an office-type position. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate in other situations. This is primarily a work-from-home position, with some travel to Corporate Office area as needed. Requires eligibility to work in the US and may require a background investigation or security clearance.
