Lead Software Engineer

I’m working with a growing SaaS business looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join a small product engineering team.

This is a genuinely hands-on leadership role, combining software engineering, technical direction and people management.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading technical direction and architecture
• Hands-on development with C# / .NET, React & Azure
• Building and evolving a SaaS product
• Designing RESTful APIs and modern cloud solutions
• Mentoring and managing engineers
• Driving engineering standards and delivery
• Working with senior stakeholders across product and technology

The AI angle

The business has already embedded AI across its development lifecycle, using tools such as Claude and experimenting with AI agents and other emerging technologies.

You’ll have the opportunity to help shape how AI is used to improve engineering productivity, quality and delivery.

• 7+ years’ software engineering experience
• Strong .NET / C#
• Strong React / frontend experience
• Azure
• SQL / Entity Framework
• CI/CD & DevOps
• Technical leadership experience
• Previous mentoring or people management experience
