Job description

  • Architect, implement, and maintain scalable, secure infrastructure in AWS using Terraform;
  • Design cloud-native, serverless solutions using MongoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, and other AWS services;
  • Contribute to incident response, production readiness, and reliability initiatives across engineering squads;
  • Enhance observability and platform insight through actionable alerting and data visibility using Datadog;
  • Improve CI/CD processes with GitHub Actions to reduce delivery friction;
  • Collaborate with Node.js/TypeScript software engineers to ensure secure, performant, and resilient applications;
  • Mentor engineers and champion DevOps culture and best practices across teams;
  • Own platform-level outcomes and shape the progression of the role.

Requirements

  • Experience as a pragmatic platform engineer in regulated environments;
  • Experience balancing delivery with compliance and operational excellence;
  • Confidence working with JavaScript/TypeScript-based applications and development teams;
  • Knowledge of MongoDB and Postgres, including diagnosing, designing, and optimising for scale and resilience;
  • Strong focus on observability and actionable alerting;
  • Fluency in AWS best practices, infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, and CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions;
  • Exposure to architectural decisions;
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and follow through on ideas

  • £55,000 And £75,000, dependant on experience + reviewed annually;
