Job description
Are you an experienced Delivery Manager looking to lead high-impact platform delivery for a major technology and engineering organisation?, As Delivery Manager, you’ll report into a Portfolio Manager and take responsibility for the successful delivery of projects and workstreams within a platforms team. You’ll plan, mobilise, manage and control delivery in line with client expectations, contractual obligations and quality standards, leading project teams, coordinating stakeholders, and keeping delivery on track from mobilisation through to completion.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on managing competing priorities, evaluating risk, and driving corrective action to protect delivery performance, while also mentoring and developing less experienced colleagues.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Plan, manage and deliver assigned projects/workstreams against agreed scope, schedule, cost, quality and governance requirements
- Coordinate project teams and resources, ensuring roles, priorities and dependencies are clearly understood
- Monitor progress, manage risks/issues/dependencies/change control, and take corrective action to protect delivery
- Own project reporting, documentation, forecasts, dashboards and governance packs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
- Lead project meetings, reviews and governance forums, capturing and progressing actions and escalations
- Ensure delivery activity complies with organisational standards and ways of working
- Support mobilisation and continuous improvement, sharing delivery expertise and lessons learned
- Provide day-to-day direction and support to project teams and junior staff
Requirements
- Solid working knowledge of project management principles, governance, lifecycle models, planning, budgeting, risk/issue management, change control, reporting and quality
- Proven experience leading infrastructure and/or platform deliveries, with accountability for time, cost, scope and quality
- Strong planning, organisational and stakeholder management skills
- Confident written and verbal communicator, able to tailor messaging across audiences
- Highly competent in Microsoft Office, JIRA and Confluence
- Experience working within a governed, quality-driven or highly technical delivery environment
- Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g. APM) or evidence of ongoing CPD in project delivery
