Job description

  • The GCP DevOps Lead will contribute to the software continuous delivery implementation and operations of Deutsche Bank - Corporate Bank Technology projects.

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-availability infrastructure on GCP Cloud platform

  • Works as part of an engineering team to improve the overall delivery process

  • Support engineering efforts by providing tools, automation, and hardware assistance.

  • Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes

  • Manage infrastructure as a code using tools such as Terraform

  • Develops and integrates systems, utilities and scripts to automate deployment and monitoring of builds and environments

  • Work with Developers and QAs to orchestrate automated testing and deployment through a lifecycle of environments from dev to production.

  • Identifies issues / optimization potentials and implements solutions

  • Liaises with other technical teams, conducting technology research, and evaluating software required for maintaining the development environment.

  • The role would ideally suit a passionate technologist, with broad experience across software delivery & technologies with an agile mind-set.

  • Routine application maintenance tasks are an ongoing responsibility of DevOps Engineers that they accomplish via strategy-building techniques.

  • Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations

Requirements

  • Experience with high-end complex solutions applications

  • Understanding of industry standards processes for build, deploy, release and support (CI/CD, incident/problem /change management etc.)

  • Experience with any cloud-based infrastructure (GCP/AWS/Azure), highly available and fault tolerant applications.

  • Our tech stack: GCP (GKE, Bigquery, CloudSQL, CloudMonitoring etc), but any other public cloud experience is relevant, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Helm.

  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code - Terraform

  • Network Fundamentals - Firewalls and ingress/egress Patterns, application layer protocols (TLS/SSL, HTTP(S), DNS, etc)

  • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes (creating images, deployment)

  • Experience with GCP based security hardening including IAM, ACL, firewall rules

  • Experience with DBMS and SQL (Oracle)

  • Experience in supporting/building Continuous Delivery pipelines

  • Experience with deployment strategies (such as BlueGreen, Canary)

  • Good understanding of various design and architectural patterns

  • Good understanding of Microservices and API Management

  • Good knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle processes and the related tools such as: BitBucket, Git, Artifactory and other software configuration management/version control tools; ; Jenkins, TeamCity or other CI tools; Maven, Gradle or other build tools; Ansible or other IT Automation/software provisioning tools; JIRA, Confluence;

  • Experience in monitoring/reporting tools such as Splunk, Grafana/Prometheus etc

  • Experience in Agile practices

  • Working knowledge of environment monitoring tools such as GCO, NewRelic, Prometheus, Grafana.

  • Collaboration Skills: Proactive can-do attitude; A creative approach towards solving technical problems; Able to work efficiently with colleagues in multiple locations; Willing to collaborate across domains, for efficiency in technology sharing and reuse; Excellent communication skills in English
