Requirements

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to integrate AI solutions into Sartorius bioanalytics ecosystem
  • Masters or PhD degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning or related disciplines
  • Experience with LLMs (e.g.: GPT, LLaMA) and VLMs (e.g.: CLIP, Flamingo)
  • Hands on experience with multi agent systems and orchestration frameworks
  • Familiarity with microscopy imaging and life science data is a plus
  • Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, Tensorflow)
  • Basic knowledge in graph theory and its applications in AI
  • Knowledge of distributed systems and cloud based AI deployment
  • Experience with reinforcement learning and agent based modeling
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to interdisciplinary teams
  • You describe yourself as a conceptual and creative thinker with excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal)

About the company

We are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Scientist to join the Corporate Reserach department at Sartorius. As an applied Machine Learning Scientist, you will use your expertise in modern computer vision methodology to improve world-leading Sartorius cell imaging products routinely used by major companies across the life science and biopharmaceutical industry. This role requires expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs), Vision Language Models (VLMs) with a strong emphasis on multi-agent systems for orchestrating complex workflows.

Working with Sartorius you will have unique access and ability to generate large-scale, annotated and high quality biological datasets across different bioanalytics modalities including live cell imaging. You will also be directly involved in our collaboration with NVIDIA to accelerate and scale the development of new and better therapies with AI powered computing platforms and software.

You will join our very talented interdisciplinary and global data science team in Corporate Research that develop AI/advanced data analytics solutions that moves the needle in what is currently possible. You are a person driven by curiosity and ability to solve any problem. This combined with a personal drive and focus will result in innovations that make a real difference and significantly contribute to simplify progress for our customers, from drug development to production of biologics that treat life threatening and chronic diseases and brings better health for millions of people. This position is available full-time, with the opportunity to be based remotely in the UK or Germany, with regular travel to relevant Sartorius sites e.g. Royston near Cambridge.

  • You will develop and deploy AI driven solutions for microscopy image analysis and related biotechnology predictions
  • Design and optimize architectures leveraging LLMs and VLMs for multimodal data interpretation
  • Apply graph theory principles to model biological networks and enhance predictive analytics
  • Build and manage multi agent frameworks for automated data processing and decision making
