Job description

  • Forum Governance and Execution: Own the planning, facilitation, documentation, and follow-up for the Mainframe Workload and Stability Forum. Establish agendas, capture decisions, maintain action trackers, confirm owners and due dates, and ensure recurring cadence with clear operating discipline.
  • Mainframe Stability and Workload Coordination: Coordinate across mainframe systems, DB2, operations, infrastructure, application, performance, and vendor teams to track workload constraints, recurring incidents, capacity issues, performance trends, remediation plans, and operational dependencies.
  • Risk, Issue, and Action Management: Maintain a centralized risk and issue log for workload and stability concerns. Drive timely follow-up on open items, escalate blockers, validate closure evidence, and ensure risks are communicated clearly to leadership before they become delivery or production impacts.
  • Executive Reporting and Stakeholder Communication: Prepare concise executive summaries, forum readouts, status updates, dashboards, and decision logs that communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and required leadership actions in a clear and outcome-focused manner.
  • Process Improvement and Operating Model Maturity: Identify opportunities to strengthen forum discipline, improve intake and prioritization, standardize reporting, clarify accountability, and increase transparency across mainframe stability and workload management activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Informatics, Information Technology, Information Systems or related discipline
  • 5 years experience in leading projects in a cross-functional, technical systems implementation
  • Strong experience managing cross-functional technical forums, operational review cadences, action-item tracking, issue/risk management, and executive-level reporting.
  • Experience working with mainframe, DB2, enterprise database, infrastructure, production support, incident/problem management, or mission-critical operations environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical issues into clear business impacts, decisions needed, and actionable next steps for leadership audiences.
  • Strong organizational discipline with proven ability to manage multiple workstreams, dependencies, stakeholders, and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise meeting recaps, status reports, decision logs, and escalation summaries.
  • Experience using collaboration and tracking tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, or equivalent enterprise tools.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience supporting mainframe modernization, mainframe workload management, DB2 z/OS, DB2 LUW, capacity planning, performance tuning, or production stability initiatives.
  • Experience coordinating with managed service providers, infrastructure vendors, engineering teams, application teams, and operations teams in a highly regulated enterprise environment.
  • Understanding of ITIL practices, including incident, problem, change, release, and service management processes.
  • Experience building executive dashboards, operational scorecards, RAID logs, action trackers, and recurring governance packages.
  • PMP, Scrum Master, ITIL, or related project/program management certification preferred.
  • Healthcare payer, federal program, financial services, or other regulated industry experience preferred.
  • Strong Communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to successfully lead in a matrixed environment.
