Job description
We are looking for a motivated and technically-minded individual to join our custom-built repair centre in Lincoln as an End User Compute Technician.
Requirements
This role would suit someone with a genuine interest in technology, whether gained through education, personal projects, or early work experience. Full training will be provided, so attitude, willingness to learn, and problem-solving ability are just as important as previous experience.
You will support the diagnosis, repair, configuration, and refurbishment of desktop and laptop devices, helping to ensure equipment is prepared to a high standard for our customers. You will also carry out associated administration, maintain accurate records, and follow established processes and quality standards.
Working alongside experienced colleagues, you will develop your technical skills while contributing to a busy and customer-focused repair centre environment.
Typical working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:30, with a one-hour lunch break. This role is based in our Lincoln office five days per week.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- An interest in IT, technology, computer hardware, or device support.
- Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems, laptops, desktops, and common hardware components.
- Logical thinking and a methodical approach to problem solving.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow processes accurately.
- Good organisational and administrative skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
DESIRABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL
- Experience building, repairing, upgrading, or troubleshooting computers.
- Experience gained through work, college, apprenticeships, personal projects, or hobbies.
- Knowledge of device imaging or deployment tools such as MDT, Autopilot, or SCCM., * Hands-on experience working with a wide range of devices and technologies.
