Systems Administrator - Senior

Better IT Services is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Systems Administrator to lead the design, implementation, and management of complex IT infrastructure and systems, distributed across a rural, multisite, network. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust IT solutions., * Configure, deploy, and maintain scalable system architectures utilizing virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), onsite servers, workstations, laptops, wireless access points, switches, and cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Exchange Online)

• Manage and optimize enterprise IT infrastructure including operating systems (Windows Server, Windows 10, Windows 11), and common network/system management factors (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
• Implement and enforce system security protocols to safeguard data integrity and prevent cyber threats through firewalls, information security measures, and access controls
• Run, and understand well enough to troubleshoot, automation scripts using Batch (.bat/cmd), and PowerShell scripting to streamline system administration tasks and improve operational efficiency
• Lead initiatives for IT projects, system upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery plan maintenance, testing, & implementation.

Do you have experience in Windows?, * 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator with a primary focus on client, server and networking technologies.

• Proven experience in system administration across diverse platforms including Windows Servers, Windows clients, Network-connected printers, network infrastructure devices, power backup systems, and more.
• Strong understanding of system architecture principles with hands-on experience in technology scoping, determination, and implementation, for enterprise environments
• Expertise in computer networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, VPNs, load balancing, firewalls, and network security best practices
• Proficiency with virtualization technologies like VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, and associated management tools. Familiarity with cloud services including Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online
• Ability to run, understand, and troubleshoot, scripts using Batch(.BAT/CMD), Python or PowerShell for automation purposes
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on information security, and stability, measures to protect organizational data assets
• One or more relevant certifications such as ITIL certifications, cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CI, Microsoft Certified Professional certifications, CompTIA certifications (A+, NET+, Security+, etc.), Cisco network and/or security certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCDA, etc.), VMware Certified Professional certification (VCP), or related
