Point of Care Testing Coordinator I

• Coordinate laboratory activities and programs across multiple Legacy Community Health locations.
• Assess laboratory performance and provide timely updates to clinical operations leadership.
• Develop, implement, and monitor laboratory policies and protocols to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Conduct training sessions for testing personnel, evaluating technical skills and adherence to policies.
• Participate in monthly site audits and communicate findings to leadership teams.
• Serve as the primary contact for regulatory compliance, including CLIA and OSHA standards.
• Monitor quality standards, perform instrument validations, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment issues.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory services.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance of CLIA certificates and site test menus.
• Perform diagnostic tests and train staff on specimen collection and processing techniques.
• Report critical lab values, coordinate patient follow-ups, and document findings appropriately.
• Foster a respectful, team-based environment aligned with Legacy’s mission and values.
• Support the primary care medical home model to optimize patient care delivery.
• Participate in required safety training and adhere to exposure control plans.
• Encourage continuing education and participate in annual training sessions to stay current.

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technician
• MLT(ASCP) certified or equivalent
• CPR/BLS training required
• 3 years of point of care and/or laboratory experience in a clinical laboratory setting is required.
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of and ability to remain compliant with HIPAA regulations.
• Able to maintain strict confidentiality of client information.
• Ability to work with clinical staff, work well under pressure, and multitask within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to the concepts of preventive health care program and team approach to health care delivery.
• Experience working with computers.
• Experience working in electronic medical records.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
