Sr. Software & Integration Engineer, Megapack Test Automation

The Tesla Energy Software team is looking for a software engineer to help build the tools and automation behind the engineering and field-service application used to commission, monitor, and debug Tesla’s utility-scale Megapack sites and Supercharger stations.

You’llbuild full-stack diagnostics features and the test automation that keeps them reliable, so field engineers, commissioners, and remote operators can bring industrial energy and charging assets online faster. While this roledoesn’trequire you to come in as an expert on battery and energy systems,you’llwork directly on the software that gets Megapacks and Superchargers running in the field.

You’lljoin a multidisciplinary product team and work closely with Product Managers, firmware and hardware engineers, service and diagnostics teams, Operations, and Data Analysts.Owningfeatures end to end, from back-end services to the UI engineers rely on every day. What You’ll Do

• Develop robust automated firmware/software testing solutions in TypeScript and Python, ensuring high reliability and repeatability

• Design and develop full-stack applications (React, TypeScript, Go) that deliver critical insights into Tesla’s energy systems

• Build andmaintainCI/CD pipelines and intelligent analysis tools to accelerate testing and development cycles

• Develop AI agents that automate test generation, prioritization, refinement, and anomaly detection,optimizingcoverage and testing velocity

• Collaborate with system integration, software, and firmware engineers to develop automated test scripts

• Improve andmaintainour web- and desktop-based diagnostics platform

• Debug issues in production, root-cause them, and apply fixesin a timely manner

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience

• Strong working knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (React.js, TypeScript)

• Strong CSS skills, including experience with CSS pre-compilers (SASS, LESS, etc.)

• Proficiencyin Python for test automation and tooling

• Go development experience

• Experience building highly scalable architectures

• Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and test management tools

• Experience with AI-assisted test tooling (Playwrightcodegen, agentic test generation, LLM-based failure triage) is preferred

Expected Compensation $120,000 - $252,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
