Remote DevOps Engineer (Redshift)

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Remote Sr. DevOps System Reliability Engineer to join their team. This position will focus on RedShift implementation, support, and data analytics best and ensure privacy compliance and controls. The ideal candidate will bring data analytics initiatives, helping the organization mature its analytics capabilities through secure, privacy-conscious design, reliable analytics engineering practices, and well-governed supporting artifacts. This person will be a subject matter for server installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, application deployments, container management, support and documentation of standards, environments and procedures for the administration of all supported environments, in close collaboration with project Development resources.

Other responsibilities will include:

• Serves as a Redshift SME and escalation point

• Responsible for managing and reporting on all major team deliverables, including projects assigned to more junior staff on projects specific to the task that the Sr Engineer is assigned

• Medicaid Provider Management business processes, policies, and the systems that support them.

• CMS requirements for the management of Medicaid Providers and designs enhancements to meet these requirements.

• BS Degree and 5-8+ years of DevOps/SRE experience

• 3+ years of Redshift experience

• User level experience with PowerShell/Puppet/Ansible or equivalent technologies

• Proficiency supporting large installations and maintaining high availability such as clustering, and load balancing with respect to above listed applications

• Experience with Medicaid industry or Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) and Medicaid Provider Management Systems is a plus

• Experience leading application deployments including the coordination of database changes and application configurations

• Use of deployment technologies including Docker / Containers / Kubernetes

• Experience implementing Private and Public cloud solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS)

• AWS CLI scripting experience to automate system tasks

• Excellent communication ability (verbal, written, and presentation) and an effective team player, with a very strong customer service orientation * AWS Cloud Practitioner certification required or ability to obtain certification within a short period

• The preferred candidate would have technical depth and hands-on support experience in the areas of ASP, IIS, .Net, SQLServer, SSRS/SSIS, SOAP, IBM MQ, GIT, SVN, and Jenkins, but with more of a view towards Technical Operations and Support along the lines of the SRE DevOps model, and Environment Configuration, with multiple vendors and protocols
